Here are 5 things you must know before starting your Invisible Braces treatment!
1. You must wear your aligners at least 17-22 hours a day.
Invisible Braces treatment is a full-time commitment and requires discipline. In order for the treatment to work, you have to wear your aligners for a minimum of 17 hours a day. You should only take them out to eat, or when you’re brushing or flossing your teeth. Other than that, you are supposed to wear your aligners to ensure maximum effect.
2. It can be a little odd at first.
You’ll need some time to get used to having the aligners in your mouth, especially the first few days of your treatment. You might find it a little odd during the first few days, but this will get better after wearing the aligners for a longer period of time.
3. There are other braces options, other than Invisible Braces.
Invisible Braces is a great choice for minor or moderate orthodontic problems. For more complex issues, fixed braces might be a better treatment option for you. It’ll be best to speak to an Orthodontic Specialist about your options, as he or she is trained in the movement of your teeth.
4. You need to take extra care of your oral hygiene.
Wearing your aligners over unclean teeth can trap food particles against your teeth. It would be best to brush your teeth after every meal. If that’s not possible, do at least have a thorough rinse before putting on the aligners again.
5. You save time with your dental visits!
Unlike fixed metal or ceramic braces, invisible braces do not poke or scratch or drop off. This cuts down on many unscheduled dental visits and you can do other things with this extra time saved!
